microprocessor intelligence

About Microprocessor Intelligence

In a survey by the NFPA, 'Smoke Alarms in U.S. Home Fires Fact Sheet'*, smoke alarms sounded in only 53% of 2009-2013 house fires reported to U.S. fire departments, and 59% of home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms or no working smoke alarms. This goes to show the importance of having a working fire alarm.

Universal Security Instruments’ Microprocessor Intelligence measures the amount of smoke reaching the chamber, adjusts sensitivity based on room conditions and eliminates the effects of air turbulence from fans or open doors. This technology maintains power consistency to prevent false alarms and is precisely calibrated during production to perform self-diagnosis upon start-up. All of these efforts work towards the ultimate goal of preventing nuisance alarms and unnecessary disabling of faulty alarms.

nuisance alarms

Virtually Eliminates Nuisance Alarms

Universal Security Instruments created Microprocessor Intelligence to virtually eliminate nuisance alarms caused by non-hazardous sources. The only way to safely prevent nuisance alarms is to choose a smoke alarm with a microprocessor that will help distinguish a false alarm from a real fire. This alarm is the only product to offer Smart Alarm Technology that is tested to provide the most reliable detection results and keep families safe.
